Strasbourg – Paris – June 14, 2023 – Medical Devices Venture, the1st French start-up studio to be listed on the stock exchange, announces that its start-up Poladerme is one of the winners of the Force Foundation’s 2023 Call for Projects.

The Fondation Force pour la recherche et l’innovation en santé has focused its 2023 call for projects on MedTech issues with a major digital dimension.

In this way, the Foundation plays a concrete role in meeting needs that are not adequately covered: in line with regulatory developments, local specialties of excellence, and forward-looking analyses of the sector.

Its aim is to contribute to e-health projects that will free up care time, with a view to disseminating solutions outside the region.

The POLADERME project, a start-up from the ICube laboratory at the University of Strasbourg, fits perfectly into this mission. Jihad Zallat and Christian Heinrich, both lecturers at the University, have developed a unique prototype of a spectropolarimetric image-taking device for objective analysis of tissues and skin lesions.

The polarization of light corresponds to the orientation of the electromagnetic field, undetectable to the naked eye. Poladerme’s optical system is able to measure this orientation, capturing physical skin properties invisible to the dermatoscope.
